Freelance Assistants to Work on Cookery Classes
The job involves

Potential Progression
- Usual working shifts are 5 hours:
- Fridays : 6:00pm - 11:00pm (session A)
- Saturdays : 10:30am - 3:30pm (session B) and then from 5:00pm - 10:00pm (session C)
- Sundays: 10:30am - 3:30pm (session D) and then from 5:00pm - 10:00pm (session E)
- The days you choose are flexible, so you can commit to every Friday evening, or just a Saturday Morning, or even a full a weekend.
- Pay is £13 an hour (£65 for a 5 hour shift) and increasing further when trained.
The job involves
- Cleaning, kitchen equipment, cleaning work surfaces, hoovering etc
- Carrying out basic food hygiene preparation tasks.
- Helping the instructor set up for class.
- Using the dishwashers, putting things away.
- Helping serve drinks to customers.
Skills and traits
- Ability to work efficiently and keep calm, under pressure
- Stamina and enthusiasm
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to work well in a team
- Good communication skills
- High standards of personal hygiene
- An interest in food and catering
- Its an advantage to have a current Level 2 Hygiene Certificate or higher.

Potential Progression
- Potential to take up training to become an cookery instructor. Most of our instructors over the years have started out as an assistant, and progressed through training to become highly paid instructors or in other food related roles.

- To run Vietnamese Cookery Classes

Dim Sum Class Instructors
- To run Dim Sum classes in weekday evenings; daytime and / or evenings on weekends. Flexible Dates.
- Must enjoy eating Dim Sum and have a good general knowledge about Dim Sum.
- (you do not have to be an expert in making but to be able to talk confidently about Dim Sum)
- Must be good with people and be able to handle a class of 16 or more people.
- Full training will be given to cover all aspects of the teaching.

- Pay is circa £30,000 pro-rata, to start and could rise to £40,000 pro-rata in the first year depending on aptitude.
Sushi Class Instructors
- To run sushi classes two evenings a week.
- Must be passionate about the craft and able to convey that passion to a class of 16 or more people.
- Background in sushi making essential. Must have knowledge of sushi.
- Full Training will be given to cover all aspects of the teaching.

Other Cookery Instructors
- To teach interesting cuisines or particular recipes.
